Anti-Aging & Lifting · quick answer

How anti-aging and lifting treatment works, in one paragraph

Anti-aging and lifting treatments address the main signs of facial ageing without surgery: wrinkles from muscle movement, lost volume, sagging skin and declining skin quality. Each concern has a different tool, such as Botox for expression lines, fillers or collagen stimulators for volume, HIFU, RF or threads for laxity, and boosters for skin texture. At Ever Skin Clinic in Apgujeong, a board-certified dermatologist assesses which of these changes you have and builds a plan that combines only the treatments you need.

What we treat

The four changes of facial ageing

Facial ageing is not one problem. Repeated muscle movement etches lines, fat pads shrink and shift, bone gradually changes shape, and skin loses collagen and elasticity so it sags and thins. A good plan matches each change to the treatment that addresses it, rather than using a single procedure for everything.

That is why our dermatologists often combine, for example, Botox for the upper face, fillers for midface volume and Ultherapy or InMode for the jawline.

Treatments in this group

  • Botox - softens frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet
  • Dermal fillers - restore lost volume in cheeks, temples and folds
  • Lifting devices - HIFU, RF and laser lifting to firm sagging skin
  • Thread lifting - PDO and MINT threads to reposition soft tissue
  • Collagen stimulators - Sculptra and Radiesse for gradual volume and firmness

Choosing a plan

Which treatment suits which concern?

Fine lines that appear when you frown or smile usually respond to Botox, while lines that are visible at rest may also need fillers or skin boosters. Hollowing and flattened cheeks call for volume, and early jowls or a softened jawline respond best to lifting devices or threads. Patients in their thirties often start with prevention, while those with more laxity may need a combination.

For significant sagging, non-surgical options have limits; your dermatologist will tell you honestly when results are likely to be modest. See our non-surgical facelift page for combined programs.

Your dermatologist will consider

  • Whether lines are dynamic or present at rest
  • Where volume has been lost and how much
  • The degree of skin laxity on the jaw and neck
  • Skin quality, thickness and sun damage
  • Your available downtime and travel dates

Your visit

How a visit works

Many lifting and injectable treatments can be done on the same day as your consultation, which suits patients visiting Seoul for a short time.

  1. Consultation A board-certified dermatologist examines your face at rest and in motion and discusses your priorities.
  2. Plan We agree on a combination of treatments, the order and the expected downtime and timeline.
  3. Treatment Treatments are carried out with numbing as needed, often in one or two visits.
  4. Review We review results at a suitable interval and plan maintenance, in person or remotely if you have travelled home.

A combined non-surgical anti-aging plan

Your own plan may include fewer or different treatments; your dermatologist will explain what each part is expected to do.

Recovery & safety

Recovery and safety

Downtime depends on the treatment: Botox and many energy devices have little or none, fillers may cause swelling or bruising for a few days, and thread lifts can bring tightness and swelling for one to two weeks. Each treatment carries its own risks, which your dermatologist will explain before you agree to it.

Tell your dermatologist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood thinners, have an autoimmune or neuromuscular condition, have had previous fillers, threads or surgery, or have an active skin infection.

Aftercare tips

  • Follow the specific instructions for each treatment you receive
  • Avoid saunas and intense exercise for a few days after injections or threads
  • Use daily broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect collagen
  • Allow a buffer before important events or long flights
  • Keep maintenance appointments to sustain results

Questions we hear every day

Anti-Aging & Lifting FAQ

What is the best anti-aging treatment?

There is no single best treatment, because ageing involves lines, volume loss, sagging and skin quality changes. The most natural results usually come from combining a few treatments matched to your face. A dermatologist assessment is the best way to decide.

At what age should I start?

There is no set age. Many people start in their late twenties or thirties with Botox, boosters or light lifting to slow visible changes, while others begin later with combined plans. Your dermatologist will focus on what your skin actually shows.

How long do lifting results last?

It varies by treatment and person. Botox typically lasts about three to four months, many fillers six to eighteen months, and HIFU or RF lifting often around a year. Ageing continues, so maintenance sessions help sustain results.

Can non-surgical treatments replace a facelift?

For mild to moderate changes, non-surgical treatments can give a fresher, firmer look with little downtime. They cannot match the lift of surgery for significant sagging, and your dermatologist will tell you if your goals are beyond what they can achieve.

Can I do a full anti-aging plan during a short trip?

Often yes. Botox, fillers and lifting devices can usually be done in one or two visits within a few days. Threads or treatments with more swelling need extra recovery time, so tell us your travel dates when booking.
