Diamond Peel Facial · quick answer
What a diamond peel facial does, in one paragraph
A diamond peel facial is a non-invasive treatment that uses a diamond-tipped wand with gentle suction to exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin cells, lift debris from pores and infuse a serum chosen for your skin. It suits dull, rough or mildly congested skin and gives a smoother, brighter look straight away with little downtime. At Ever Skin Clinic in Apgujeong, a dermatologist checks your skin first, adjusts the intensity and serum, and advises whether a facial alone or a combination plan fits your goals.

The treatment
What is a diamond peel facial?
Despite the name, a diamond peel is not a chemical peel. It is a form of microdermabrasion that uses a wand tipped with fine industrial diamond particles. As the wand passes over the skin, it removes dead cells while a vacuum draws away the loosened debris and excess oil from the pore openings. A serum is then delivered into the freshly exfoliated skin, where it can be absorbed more easily.
It is one of several surface treatments in our pore and texture refinement range. Compared with HydraFacial, which relies on fluids and vortex suction, the diamond tip gives a slightly firmer, more controllable exfoliation.
The three steps in one session
- Exfoliation - the diamond tip smooths the surface layer of dead skin
- Extraction - suction lifts debris and oil from congested pores
- Infusion - a hydrating, brightening or calming serum chosen for your skin
- Soothing - a calming finish and sunscreen to protect the fresh skin

Who is a good candidate?
Diamond peel facials suit people who want fresher, smoother-feeling skin without downtime, such as those with dull skin after travel or stress, rough patches or mild blackheads. The intensity can be lowered for sensitive skin, although very reactive skin or active rosacea may do better with gentler options.
It is a surface treatment, so it will not remove deep wrinkles, deep acne scars or melasma. For those concerns, your dermatologist may suggest lasers or pore tightening.
A diamond peel may help if you want to
- Brighten a dull, tired-looking complexion
- Smooth rough or flaky texture
- Reduce mild congestion and blackheads
- Help skincare and serums absorb better
- Refresh your skin before an event with minimal downtime

Recovery, side effects and aftercare
Mild pinkness, tightness or tingling is common and usually settles within a few hours, so most people return to normal activities the same day. Over-aggressive exfoliation can cause temporary irritation, small scrapes or, rarely, pigment change, which is why settings are adjusted to your skin.
Tell the team before treatment if you take isotretinoin or use strong retinoids or acids, have active acne, eczema, rosacea, sunburn, a cold sore or skin infection on the face, or have recently had a laser or chemical peel.
Aftercare tips
- Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser for 1 to 2 days
- Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen daily
- Pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for a few days
- Avoid saunas and intense exercise on the day
- Skip heavy make-up until the evening or next day
Questions we hear every day
Diamond Peel Facial FAQ
Does a diamond peel facial hurt?
Most people find it comfortable. You feel a light scratching or sanding sensation and gentle suction, and no numbing is needed. If any area feels too sensitive, the suction and tip can be adjusted during the session.
Is a diamond peel the same as a chemical peel?
No. A diamond peel exfoliates mechanically with a diamond-tipped wand and suction, while a chemical peel uses acids to loosen dead skin. Your dermatologist may recommend one or the other, or combine them, depending on your skin and concerns.
How many sessions do I need?
One session gives smoother, brighter skin for a few weeks. For more lasting improvement in texture, a course of about four to six sessions spaced one to two weeks apart is common, followed by maintenance every four to six weeks.
Is there any downtime?
Usually very little. Mild redness or tightness typically fades within a few hours, and you can return to normal activities the same day. Use sunscreen, as freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to the sun.
Can I have it before a flight or event?
Yes, many visitors have a diamond peel during a short trip. To be safe, allow at least a day before an important event in case of mild redness, and keep the skin moisturised on long flights.
