Neck Line Fillers · quick answer
What neck line filler does, in one paragraph
Neck line filler is a treatment for the horizontal creases that run across the front of the neck. A soft, fine hyaluronic acid filler is threaded in small amounts directly along each line, lifting the bottom of the crease so the surface looks smoother. It suits people whose neck lines are visible even when the head is held straight. At Ever Skin Clinic, a board-certified dermatologist checks the depth of each line and the quality of the neck skin before deciding how much filler, if any, is appropriate.

The treatment
What is neck line filler?
Horizontal neck lines form partly from the natural folding of the skin when we look down, and partly from thinning skin and collagen loss with age. Because neck skin is thin, the filler used is much softer than the products used for cheeks or the jaw, and only a small amount is placed in each line so that the result looks smooth rather than lumpy.
This page covers our technique for individual neck creases within our derma filler program. For a broader look at neck ageing, including crepey skin and laxity, see neck fillers for wrinkles.
What neck line filler can and cannot do
- Can soften defined horizontal creases across the neck
- Can give a quick, visible change with a short appointment
- Cannot tighten loose neck skin or lift jowls
- Cannot remove vertical neck bands, which come from the platysma muscle
- For overall crepiness, skin boosters or skin tightening are often combined
Is it right for you?
Who is a good candidate?
Neck line filler suits adults with one or more clear horizontal creases and reasonably good skin elasticity. Younger patients sometimes have deep lines from posture or phone use, and these often respond well to small amounts of filler.
If the lines are fine and widespread, or the skin is loose, your dermatologist may suggest a skin booster such as Rejuran or a lifting device first, and use filler only for the deepest creases.
Neck line filler may suit you if you
- Have distinct horizontal lines visible at rest
- Feel your neck looks older than your face
- Want a quick treatment with little downtime
- Have good overall neck skin firmness
- Plan to combine it with skin quality or lifting treatments

Natural-looking filler results
This patient received filler across several areas of the face. It is shown to illustrate the natural, balanced style our dermatologists aim for; it does not show neck line filler.
Neck line results depend on the depth of each crease and your skin quality, so ask us at consultation to see neck-specific cases and what is realistic for you.

Recovery, side effects and aftercare
Mild swelling, redness, tenderness and small bruises along the lines are common and usually settle within a few days. Because neck skin is thin, small bumps or a faint bluish tint can occasionally be seen; HA filler can be adjusted or dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. Infection and vascular complications are rare but possible with any filler.
Tell your dermatologist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood thinners, have a thyroid or neck condition, active skin infection, or a history of filler reactions. Contact the clinic promptly if pain increases or the skin changes colour.
Aftercare tips
- Avoid pressing or massaging the neck for the rest of the day
- Skip saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for 2 to 3 days
- Avoid tight collars, necklaces or scarves for a day or two
- Limit alcohol for a couple of days to reduce bruising
- Use sunscreen on the neck to protect skin quality
Questions we hear every day
Neck Line Fillers FAQ
Does neck filler hurt?
Most patients feel mild stinging as the fine needle moves along each line. Numbing cream is applied first and many fillers contain lidocaine, so the short treatment is usually well tolerated. Tell your dermatologist if you are sensitive so the pace can be adjusted.
How long do neck line fillers last?
Results often last around six to twelve months, and sometimes longer, depending on the product, the depth of the lines and how much the neck moves. A small top-up can maintain the result when the lines begin to return.
Will the filler look lumpy on my neck?
With soft filler and small amounts placed precisely along each crease, the result should look smooth. Temporary small bumps can appear in the first days. If any persist, HA filler can be adjusted or dissolved.
Can neck filler fix sagging neck skin?
No. Filler fills creases but does not tighten loose skin. For laxity, lifting treatments such as HIFU or RF and skin boosters are more suitable, and your dermatologist may combine these with filler for the deepest lines.
Can I have neck filler while travelling in Seoul?
Yes. The appointment is short and most people return to normal activities the same day. Allow a few days for any bruising to fade, and pack a scarf or high collar if you have plans or photos soon after.
