Laetigen · quick answer

What Laetigen does, in one paragraph

Laetigen is an injectable skin booster based on highly purified Type I collagen, the main structural protein of the dermis. Placed in small amounts into the skin, it aims to reinforce the collagen framework and support the skin's own repair, which can gradually improve a weakened barrier, dryness, fine lines and rough texture. At Ever Skin Clinic in Apgujeong, a board-certified dermatologist examines your skin first and decides whether Laetigen, another booster or a combination fits your goals and schedule.

The treatment

What is Laetigen?

Collagen gives skin its strength and resilience, and it declines with age, sun exposure and repeated irritation. Laetigen delivers Type I collagen directly into the dermis, where it acts as a scaffold that supports the skin's own renewal. Its focus is skin quality and resilience rather than volume, so it does not change face shape the way a dermal filler does.

Laetigen sits alongside other collagen-based boosters such as RE2O and DNA-based boosters such as Rejuran Healer. Your dermatologist will explain how they differ and which suits your skin.

What Laetigen is used for

  • Barrier support for skin that feels dry, tight or easily irritated
  • Texture : rough or uneven skin surface
  • Fine lines and early loss of elasticity
  • Recovery after lasers, RF or lifting treatments
  • Maintenance as part of a long-term skin quality plan

Is it right for you?

Who is a good candidate?

Laetigen suits adults who want stronger, healthier-looking skin with a natural result, particularly when the skin barrier is weakened by dryness, frequent treatments or environmental stress. It is often chosen by patients who want to support recovery around laser or lifting sessions.

If deeper wrinkles, sagging or volume loss are the main concern, your dermatologist may suggest combining it with lifting or a collagen stimulator such as Juvelook.

Laetigen may suit you if you want to

  • Strengthen dry, sensitised or easily irritated skin
  • Smooth rough texture and soften fine lines
  • Support recovery around laser or lifting treatments
  • Improve skin quality without changing your features
  • Add a booster to an existing anti-aging plan

A session usually takes under an hour in clinic including numbing, so it fits easily into a short stay in Seoul.

  2. Numbing Numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes to keep the injections comfortable.
  3. Injection Laetigen is placed in small amounts into the dermis across the treatment area by hand or with a fine injector.
  4. Aftercare We soothe the skin, explain what to expect and plan follow-up sessions if a course is recommended.

This case shows a combined lifting, contouring and skin booster program, shown as an example of our non-surgical results. The booster used here was Rejuran, not Laetigen, and the change reflects the whole plan.

Skin booster results are subtle and gradual, so photos rarely capture them well. Ask us for Laetigen-specific cases at consultation, and your dermatologist will explain what is realistic for your skin.

Recovery & safety

Recovery, side effects and aftercare

Mild redness, small bumps at injection points, swelling and occasional bruising are common and usually settle within one to three days. Most patients return to normal activities the next day. As with any injectable, infection and allergic reactions are rare but possible.

Tell your dermatologist before treatment if you have a known allergy to collagen or animal-derived products, an active skin infection or inflammation, an autoimmune condition, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact the clinic if redness or swelling worsens rather than settles.

Aftercare tips

  • Avoid make-up on the treated area for the rest of the day
  • Skip saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for 2 to 3 days
  • Limit alcohol for a couple of days
  • Use a gentle moisturiser and daily sunscreen
  • Do not rub or massage the injection points

Laetigen FAQ

Does Laetigen hurt?

Laetigen involves a series of small injections, so some stinging or pressure is normal. Numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep it comfortable. If you are sensitive to needles, tell your dermatologist so the technique and pace can be adjusted for you.

How many Laetigen sessions do I need?

Many patients start with a short course of about two to three sessions spaced a few weeks apart, then maintain occasionally. The right plan depends on your skin condition and goals, which your dermatologist will assess at consultation.

When will I see results?

Some patients notice their skin feels more hydrated within days. Improvements in texture, firmness and fine lines usually build gradually over several weeks as the skin renews. Results vary between individuals and are not permanent.

How is Laetigen different from Rejuran or RE2O?

Rejuran uses polynucleotides (DNA fragments) to support repair, while Laetigen and RE2O are collagen-based boosters that reinforce the dermal framework. They can be used separately or combined, and your dermatologist will recommend one based on your skin.

Can I have Laetigen during a short trip to Seoul?

Usually yes. Downtime is short, with mild redness or small bumps for one to three days. If you plan a course or want to combine it with lasers or lifting, our team can schedule sessions around your travel dates.
