Mesotherapy · quick answer

What mesotherapy does, in one paragraph

Facial mesotherapy is a series of very shallow micro-injections that deliver a tailored mix of ingredients, typically non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid with vitamins, amino acids or antioxidants, into the upper layers of the skin. It mainly improves hydration, glow and the look of fine lines and dull skin, with short downtime. At Ever Skin Clinic in Apgujeong, a board-certified dermatologist chooses the formulation and technique for your skin type and goals, and combines it with other treatments when needed.

The treatment

What is facial mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy places tiny amounts of active ingredients directly into the skin, bypassing the barrier that limits what creams can reach. For the face, the cocktail is usually built around light, non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid that attracts water, sometimes combined with vitamins and amino acids that support skin metabolism. The effect is mainly on hydration and radiance rather than structure or volume.

Mesotherapy is one of several skin booster injections. For repair-focused goals, our dermatologists may suggest Rejuran or PDRN instead or in combination.

What mesotherapy can help with

  • Dehydrated skin that feels tight or looks flat
  • Dullness and an uneven, tired complexion
  • Fine lines caused by dryness
  • Neck and décolletage crepiness
  • Pre-event glow as part of a maintenance routine

Is it right for you?

Who is a good candidate?

Mesotherapy suits adults with dry, dull or tired-looking skin who want a fresher, more hydrated look with little downtime. It is popular before events and as regular maintenance between stronger treatments.

It will not lift sagging skin or correct deep wrinkles. For those concerns, your dermatologist may combine it with lifting devices or collagen stimulators.

Mesotherapy may suit you if you

  • Have skin that stays dry despite moisturisers
  • Want a natural glow before an event or trip
  • Notice fine lines from dehydration
  • Prefer short downtime and gradual change
  • Want maintenance between lasers or lifting

Questions we hear every day

Mesotherapy FAQ

Does mesotherapy hurt?

Most patients feel light pricks and mild stinging. Numbing cream is applied first, and the injections are very shallow, so it is usually well tolerated. Let your dermatologist know if you are sensitive so the technique can be adjusted.

How many mesotherapy sessions do I need?

For hydration and glow, a course of about three to four sessions two to four weeks apart is common, then maintenance every one to three months. Your dermatologist will tailor the plan to your skin and schedule.

How long do mesotherapy results last?

The extra hydration and glow often appear within a few days and typically last a few weeks to a few months. Because the ingredients are absorbed by the skin, regular maintenance is needed to keep the effect.

Is mesotherapy the same as a skin booster?

Mesotherapy is a type of skin booster treatment. The term usually refers to custom cocktails of hyaluronic acid and nutrients, whereas other boosters such as Rejuran or Juvelook use specific branded ingredients with different goals.

Can I have mesotherapy before a flight or event?

Yes, downtime is short. Small bumps usually settle within a day or two, so allow at least two days before an important event. Flying the next day is generally fine; keep your skin moisturised on the plane.
