RE2O · quick answer
What RE2O does, in one paragraph
RE2O is an injectable skin booster based on human-derived extracellular matrix (ECM) components, the network of collagen, elastin, fibronectin and proteoglycans that holds the dermis together. Placed in small amounts into the skin, it aims to support that structural environment, which can gradually improve thin or fragile skin, dryness, fine lines and rough texture without adding volume. At Ever Skin Clinic in Apgujeong, a board-certified dermatologist assesses your skin and decides whether RE2O alone or a combination suits you.

The treatment
What is RE2O?
The extracellular matrix is the scaffold around skin cells. With age and sun exposure it thins, and the skin becomes drier, less elastic and more fragile. RE2O supplies ECM components to the dermis to support this environment, so its focus is skin density and quality rather than hydration alone or volume.
For a deeper look at the collagen side of this treatment, see RE2O human collagen. Our dermatologists may also compare it with Laetigen, a Type I collagen booster, and Rejuran, a polynucleotide booster.
What RE2O is used for
- Thin or fragile skin that bruises or creases easily
- Chronic dryness despite good skincare
- Fine lines and early loss of elasticity
- Rough texture and enlarged-looking pores
- Recovery after lasers or aesthetic procedures
Is it right for you?
Who is a good candidate?
RE2O suits adults who want stronger, denser-looking skin with a natural result and no change in features. It is a sensible option for patients with thin, crepey skin on the face or neck, or for those who want to support skin after a series of lasers.
It does not lift sagging tissue or replace lost volume. If those are concerns, your dermatologist may combine it with lifting devices or fillers.
RE2O may suit you if you
- Have thin, fragile or weakened skin
- Notice fine lines and rough texture
- Have dryness that moisturisers do not fix
- Want natural rejuvenation without added volume
- Want to support skin after lasers or other treatments

An example of a combined skin plan
This case shows a combined lifting, contouring and skin booster program, shown as an example of our non-surgical results. It is not an RE2O result, and the change reflects the whole plan.
RE2O improves skin quality gradually, which is subtle in photos. Ask us for RE2O-specific cases at consultation.

Tell your dermatologist before treatment if you have known allergies to biological or collagen-based products, an active skin infection, an autoimmune condition, a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Aftercare tips
- Avoid make-up for the rest of the day
- Skip saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for 2 to 3 days
- Limit alcohol for a couple of days
- Use a gentle moisturiser and daily sunscreen
- Do not rub or massage the injection points
Questions we hear every day
RE2O FAQ
Does RE2O hurt?
RE2O involves many small injections, so mild stinging is normal. Numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep it comfortable. If you are sensitive, tell your dermatologist so the pace and technique can be adjusted.
How many RE2O sessions do I need?
Many patients start with a course of about two to three sessions a few weeks apart, then maintain occasionally. The right plan depends on your skin thickness and goals, which your dermatologist will assess.
When will I see results from RE2O?
Skin may feel more hydrated within a week or two, while improvements in texture, density and fine lines build gradually over several weeks. Results vary and maintenance is needed to keep the effect.
How is RE2O different from other skin boosters?
Hydrating boosters mainly add water-binding hyaluronic acid, and Rejuran uses polynucleotides. RE2O supplies extracellular matrix components to support the skin's structure. Your dermatologist may combine them depending on your concerns.
Is RE2O suitable for a short trip to Seoul?
Usually yes. Downtime is short, with small bumps or redness for one to three days. If a course is recommended, we can plan the first session early in your stay and advise on timing for the rest.
