Forehead Fillers · quick answer

What forehead filler does, in one paragraph

Forehead filler is hyaluronic acid, or sometimes a collagen stimulator, placed in a deep layer across the forehead to restore a smooth, gently rounded contour. A flat, uneven or bony forehead can look harsh or tired; adding soft convexity balances the face and, by evenly supporting the skin, often softens horizontal lines too. At Ever Skin Clinic, board-certified dermatologists use conservative volumes, aiming for a natural curve rather than a heavy, overfilled look.

The treatment

What is forehead filler?

In East Asian aesthetics, a smooth, softly rounded forehead is often associated with a youthful, gentle look. With age, or by nature, the forehead can appear flat, dented or bony. Filler placed deep under the muscle layer and spread smoothly restores that curve and evens out irregularities.

Forehead filler is different from forehead Botox: filler restores shape, while forehead Botox relaxes the muscle that creates moving lines. Many patients benefit from both, and forehead filler is often planned with temple fillers for a smooth upper-face outline.

What forehead filler can help with

  • Flat or sloping forehead — a softer, rounder profile
  • Dents and irregularities — a smoother surface
  • Static forehead lines — softened as the skin is evenly supported
  • Upper-face balance — with temples and brow area
  • Not a replacement for Botox when lines are caused by movement

Is it right for you?

Who is a good candidate?

Forehead filler suits people whose forehead looks flat, uneven or hollow, or who have lines that remain visible at rest. It is common among patients who want a softer, more youthful upper face as part of non-surgical facial contouring.

Those with a naturally prominent or already rounded forehead, or with heavy brows, may not benefit. Your dermatologist will assess forehead shape in profile and the brow position before advising.

Forehead filler may suit you if you

  • Have a flat or sloping forehead in profile
  • Notice dents or uneven contours
  • Have horizontal lines visible at rest
  • Want a softer, more balanced upper face
  • Prefer a natural result with modest volume

Your visit

What happens during treatment

The injection itself takes about 10 minutes, making forehead filler easy to fit into a short stay.

  1. Design Your dermatologist assesses forehead shape from front and side and marks the area to be shaped.
  2. Numbing Numbing cream is applied; many fillers also contain lidocaine.
  3. Injection Filler is placed deep, usually with a cannula through a small entry point, and spread into a smooth curve.
  4. Shaping and review The contour is gently moulded, checked from all angles and aftercare explained.

Recovery & safety

Recovery, side effects and aftercare

Mild swelling is common and may briefly shift towards the eyelids in the first days. Bruising, tenderness and slight unevenness can occur and usually settle; HA filler can be adjusted or dissolved with hyaluronidase. The forehead and brow area contain vessels linked to the eye, so vascular complications, though rare, are taken seriously.

Tell your dermatologist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood thinners, have a skin infection, autoimmune condition, or previous forehead filler or implants. Seek help immediately for increasing pain, colour change or any vision change.

Aftercare tips

  • Avoid pressing, massaging or wearing tight headbands or hats for a few days
  • Sleep on your back with the head slightly raised for the first nights
  • Skip saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for 2 to 3 days
  • Limit alcohol for a couple of days
  • Wait around two weeks to judge the final contour

Questions we hear every day

Forehead Fillers FAQ

Does forehead filler hurt?

Most patients feel pressure rather than sharp pain. Numbing cream is used and a cannula through a small entry point reduces the number of needle passes.

How long does forehead filler last?

The forehead moves relatively little at the deep layer where filler is placed, so results often last around a year or more. Duration varies with the product, amount and your metabolism.

Will forehead filler get rid of my forehead wrinkles?

It can soften lines that are visible at rest by supporting the skin evenly. Lines that appear mainly when raising the eyebrows respond better to Botox, and many patients combine the two.

How do you avoid a bulging forehead?

By using modest amounts, placing filler deep and shaping it to match your profile. Our dermatologists prefer to build gradually and review rather than overcorrect in one session.

Can I fly after forehead filler?

Most patients can fly the next day. Mild swelling may be more noticeable during the flight. Avoid tight hats or eye masks pressing on the forehead and contact us if you notice pain or colour change.
