What Shurink Universe does, in one paragraph
Shurink Universe is a Korean high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) device. What is Shurink Universe?
Shurink Universe delivers focused ultrasound through cartridges set at different depths, reaching the dermis and the deeper SMAS layer. The heat causes immediate contraction and triggers collagen renewal over the following months. Compared with Ultherapy, it has no real-time imaging and is usually delivered at gentler settings, so discomfort is generally lower and it can be repeated more often.

For more marked sagging, your dermatologist may recommend Ultherapy, threads or a combination instead. Very thin faces need careful energy at deep layers.

What happens during treatment
A Shurink session is quick and leaves no visible marks, so it fits easily into a stay in Seoul.

Recovery, side effects and aftercare
Mild redness, swelling or tenderness when chewing or touching the jaw can last a few days. Occasionally small bruises, welts or temporary numbness appear. Rare risks include burns or temporary nerve irritation, which careful settings help avoid.
Tell your dermatologist if you are pregnant, have metal implants or devices in the area, an active skin infection, recent fillers or threads in the treatment zone, or a history of keloids.
Aftercare tips
- Avoid saunas and intense exercise for 1 to 2 days
- Use gentle skincare for a few days
- Apply sunscreen daily

Is Shurink Universe painful?
It is generally gentler than Ultherapy. Most patients feel warmth or brief prickling, a little stronger over bone. Numbing cream can be applied and energy adjusted. Let your dermatologist know if any area feels too strong.
Shurink or Ultherapy: which should I choose?
Both use focused ultrasound. Ultherapy adds real-time imaging and is often chosen for deeper or more marked sagging, while Shurink is gentler and suits first-time or maintenance lifting. Your dermatologist will recommend based on your laxity and comfort.
How long do Shurink results last?
Results commonly last several months, often around six months, depending on settings and skin. Because it is gentle, many patients repeat it every few months or combine it with other devices.
Can I have Shurink during a short trip?
Yes. There is usually no downtime and no visible marks, so it suits international patients on short visits. Mild tenderness may last a few days but does not normally affect travel.
Can Shurink slim my face?
It can firm the jawline and under-chin, which can make the lower face look more defined. It does not reduce muscle bulk; jaw slimming from a large masseter is usually treated with contouring Botox.
