Glutathione IV for Visitors · quick answer

Glutathione IV during a trip to Seoul, in one paragraph

A glutathione IV drip is an intravenous infusion of the antioxidant glutathione, used as optional support for a brighter, more even complexion. For visitors, it is easy to fit into a trip because a session takes under an hour and has no visible downtime. Effects are subtle, temporary and best when combined with treatments that act on the skin directly. At Ever Skin Clinic, a board-certified dermatologist screens your health, then plans drips around your flights and any laser or booster sessions.

The treatment

What a glutathione drip offers visitors

Glutathione is an antioxidant the body makes naturally. Given by drip, it briefly raises blood levels and is thought to nudge melanin production towards lighter pigment. The effect is gradual and modest, which is why we treat it as a supporting step rather than the main treatment for pigment or dullness.

This page focuses on practical planning for international patients. For how glutathione fits into treating melasma and spots, see our glutathione IV and pigmentation page. Visitors often pair a drip with laser toning or a skin booster, or compare it with our other skin drips.

Why visitors choose it, and its limits

  • Fits a busy itinerary : under an hour, no visible downtime
  • Easy to combine with laser or boosters on the same day
  • English-language consultation with a dermatologist
  • Limited : one or two drips make little visible difference
  • Not a substitute for sunscreen or pigment treatment

Is it right for you?

Who is a good candidate?

Healthy adults visiting Seoul who want an optional brightening step alongside other treatments are good candidates. It is also suitable for those continuing a course they started at home, provided they can share what they have received.

It is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have had an allergic reaction to glutathione, or have certain asthma, kidney or liver conditions. Bring a list of your medicines and supplements to the consultation.

A glutathione drip may suit you if you

  • Are in Seoul for a short stay and want low-downtime care
  • Are booking brightening treatments such as laser toning
  • Have dull or uneven skin and realistic expectations
  • Have no conditions that rule out IV therapy
  • Can share details of any drips received elsewhere

Drips can be scheduled on arrival day, between sightseeing, or on the same day as other treatments.

  1. Before you fly Message us with your travel dates, concerns and medical history so we can plan sessions in advance.
  2. Consultation A board-certified dermatologist reviews your skin and health in English and confirms whether a drip is suitable.
  3. Drip A nurse places a fine cannula and the infusion runs for about 20 to 40 minutes while you rest.
  4. Ongoing plan We suggest how to keep results at home, including sunscreen and skincare, and how to space any further drips.

Recovery & safety

Side effects and safety

Most people experience only a small bruise or tenderness at the drip site. Some feel nausea, headache, flushing or a mild rash; rare allergic reactions are possible, so infusions are given under medical supervision. Long-term safety of repeated high doses is not well studied, which is why we keep doses and courses conservative.

Tell your dermatologist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have asthma, kidney or liver disease, a history of allergic reactions, or take regular medicines. Avoid booking a drip just before a long flight if you have felt unwell after drips before.

Aftercare tips

  • Eat and drink normally before and after the drip
  • Press on the drip site for a few minutes to reduce bruising
  • Stay hydrated, especially before flying
  • Use broad-spectrum sunscreen while sightseeing
  • Message the clinic if you notice a rash or feel unwell

Questions we hear every day

Glutathione IV for Visitors FAQ

Can I have a glutathione drip on my first day in Seoul?

Usually yes, after a short consultation. There is no visible downtime, so you can continue your plans. If you feel tired after a long flight, eat and hydrate first, and tell the team if you have felt unwell after drips before.

Will one drip make a visible difference?

Usually not much. Effects build gradually and are subtle, so a single drip is unlikely to change your skin noticeably. During a short trip, we focus on treatments that act on the skin directly and use the drip as optional support.

Can I combine it with laser or skin boosters?

Yes. Many visitors book a drip on the same day as laser toning or a skin booster. Your dermatologist will plan the order so you can make the most of limited time.

Is it safe to fly after a glutathione drip?

For most people, yes. There is no recovery period. Drink plenty of water before flying and keep the drip site clean. If you have any reaction such as a rash, contact the clinic before travelling.

Can I continue drips at home?

If you want to continue, share your treatment details with a local doctor. Regulations and products vary by country, so we recommend continuing only under local medical supervision, alongside sunscreen and skincare.
