Knee Wrinkle Fillers · quick answer

What knee wrinkle filler does, in one paragraph

Knee wrinkle filler treats the crepey, wrinkled or slightly sagging skin just above and around the kneecap, a common change with age, sun exposure or weight loss. Diluted collagen stimulators such as Radiesse or Sculptra are spread thinly under the skin to encourage new collagen and firmer texture over weeks, while soft hyaluronic acid can add hydration and smoothness. At Ever Skin Clinic in Apgujeong, a board-certified dermatologist assesses skin laxity and may combine filler with RF or skin boosters.

The treatment

What is knee wrinkle filler?

The skin above the knee is thin and moves constantly. As collagen and elastin decline, it can wrinkle and fold, particularly when standing, and small fat pads may sit above the kneecap. Unlike facial filler, the aim here is usually skin quality rather than volume, so collagen stimulators are diluted and fanned out in a thin layer to firm the skin gradually.

Knee treatment is part of our body fillers range. For loose skin, energy devices such as RF skin tightening can add tightening, and body skin rejuvenation treatments can improve texture.

What knee filler can and cannot do

  • Can improve crepey, wrinkled skin texture above the knee
  • Can add mild firmness through new collagen
  • Cannot remove significant fat above the kneecap
  • Cannot tighten very loose skin on its own; devices or surgery may be needed
  • Cannot treat knee joint problems or pain

Is it right for you?

Who is a good candidate?

Good candidates have mild to moderate crepey or wrinkled skin above the knees and want smoother-looking legs, for example in skirts or shorts. Patients after weight loss or with sun-damaged skin often benefit.

If excess fat is the main issue, your dermatologist may suggest lipolysis injections first. Patients with knee joint conditions or recent knee surgery should discuss timing carefully.

Knee filler may suit you if you

  • Notice wrinkled or crepey skin above your knees
  • Have mild laxity after weight loss or with age
  • Want a non-surgical improvement in leg appearance
  • Can commit to 1 to 3 sessions
  • Are happy to combine filler with tightening if advised

Recovery & safety

Recovery, side effects and aftercare

Mild swelling, tenderness and bruising are common for a few days, and kneeling may be uncomfortable briefly. Nodules can occur with collagen stimulators, particularly if massage instructions are not followed. Infection is uncommon. Collagen stimulators cannot be dissolved, so conservative dilution and even placement matter.

Tell your dermatologist about knee joint problems or surgery, varicose veins, skin infections, autoimmune or bleeding conditions, blood thinners, keloid tendency, or pregnancy or breastfeeding. Contact the clinic for increasing pain, redness or warmth.

Aftercare tips

  • Follow the massage routine you are given for the first days
  • Avoid kneeling and intense leg exercise for 2 to 3 days
  • Skip saunas and hot baths for a few days
  • Keep the area clean and avoid tight clothing on the knees
  • Use sunscreen on exposed legs to protect new collagen

Questions we hear every day

Knee Wrinkle Fillers FAQ

Can filler fix sagging knees?

Filler improves crepey texture and mild laxity by stimulating collagen, but it cannot lift significantly loose skin. For more laxity, your dermatologist may combine it with RF or ultrasound tightening, or refer you for a surgical opinion.

How many sessions will I need?

Many patients need one to three sessions about four to eight weeks apart, depending on skin quality and the product used. Results build gradually, and maintenance every year or so is common.

Does it hurt?

Local anaesthetic is used at the entry points and many products contain lidocaine, so most people feel pressure and mild aching. The knees may feel tender for a few days.

When will I see results?

Some smoothing may be visible soon after treatment, but collagen-stimulating effects build over about two to three months. Your dermatologist will review progress before deciding on further sessions.

Can I have knee filler while visiting Seoul?

Yes. Downtime is usually mild swelling for a few days. Avoid kneeling and long leg workouts briefly. If a course is planned, our team can help schedule sessions around your trips.
