Body Fillers · quick answer
What body fillers are, in one paragraph
Body fillers are injectable fillers used outside the face to restore volume, smooth contours or improve crepey skin, for example on hip dips, buttocks, the backs of the hands, knees or décolletage. The main options are hyaluronic acid (HA) for immediate, reversible volume and collagen stimulators such as Sculptra (PLLA) or Radiesse (CaHA) for gradual, longer-lasting change. At Ever Skin Clinic in Apgujeong, a board-certified dermatologist matches the product and amount to each area and explains realistic results.

Areas we treat
Where body fillers are used
On the body, filler is usually about shape and skin quality rather than large size changes. Body areas are larger than facial ones, so collagen stimulators are often preferred: they build volume and firmness gradually and tend to be more economical per area than large volumes of HA. HA remains useful for small, precise areas and where reversibility matters.
For individual areas, see buttock augmentation fillers, hand rejuvenation fillers and knee wrinkle fillers. We do not use filler for breast augmentation, as injectable fillers are not approved for that use in many countries and can interfere with breast imaging.
Common body filler areas
- Hip dips — smoothing the dip between hip and thigh
- Buttocks — modest projection and firmer contour
- Hands — softening visible veins and tendons
- Knees and elbows — improving crepey, loose skin
- Décolletage — softening chest lines and thin skin
Is it right for you?
Who is a good candidate?
Good candidates are healthy adults at a stable weight who want a subtle to moderate improvement in a specific area and prefer to avoid surgery. Body filler is not a weight-loss treatment and does not replace implants or fat grafting for large volume changes.
For body shape concerns that come from excess fat or loose skin rather than volume loss, your dermatologist may recommend body contouring or skin-tightening treatments instead.
Body fillers may suit you if you
- Have hip dips or an uneven outline
- Have lost volume after weight loss or with age
- Notice crepey skin on knees, hands or chest
- Want a non-surgical, gradual improvement
- Are happy to plan a course of sessions if needed

Recovery, side effects and aftercare
Swelling, soreness and bruising are common for several days. Lumps or nodules can occur, especially with collagen stimulators if massage instructions are not followed. Infection is uncommon but more significant with larger volumes, so strict sterile technique is essential. We only use licensed products; liquid silicone and unapproved fillers are dangerous and never used.
Tell your dermatologist about previous body injections or surgery, skin infections, autoimmune or bleeding conditions, blood thinners, keloid tendency, or pregnancy or breastfeeding. Contact the clinic promptly for increasing pain, redness, warmth or fever.
Aftercare tips
- Keep the area clean and avoid touching entry points on the first day
- Follow massage instructions exactly if Sculptra was used
- Skip saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for about a week
- Avoid tight clothing pressing on the area for a few days
- Wait for the planned interval before judging results
Questions we hear every day
Body Fillers FAQ
Which body filler is best?
It depends on the area. Collagen stimulators such as Sculptra or Radiesse are often used for larger areas like hips and buttocks, while HA suits smaller areas or when reversibility matters. Your dermatologist will recommend a product for each area.
Can fillers be used for breast enlargement?
We do not offer filler for breast augmentation. Injectable fillers are not approved for this use in many countries and can make breast imaging and cancer screening harder. A surgical consultation is the appropriate route for breast enlargement.
How long do body fillers last?
Results often last around six months to two years depending on the product, area and your metabolism. Collagen stimulators tend to last longer after a full course, while HA in the body is usually absorbed sooner.
Is body filler painful?
Local anaesthetic is used at entry points and many products contain lidocaine. Most people feel pressure and some aching. Soreness for a few days afterwards is common, especially in weight-bearing areas.
Can I have body filler while visiting Seoul?
Yes, though plan for a few days of soreness and avoid intense exercise. Collagen stimulators need several sessions weeks apart, so discuss your travel dates with our team before starting a course.
