V Line Injections · quick answer
What V line injections do, in one paragraph
V line injections are a non-surgical combination of injectables used to make the lower face look slimmer and more tapered. Depending on what causes the width, the plan may include masseter (jaw) Botox for muscle bulk, fat dissolving injections for fullness under the chin or along the jaw, and chin filler to lengthen and define the point of the V. At Ever Skin Clinic in Apgujeong, a board-certified dermatologist works out how much comes from muscle, fat, bone or laxity before choosing the combination.

The treatment
What are V line injections?
A V-shaped lower face depends on three things: the width at the jaw angles, the softness or fullness along the jawline and under the chin, and the length and projection of the chin. Each has a different cause, so V line injections are a tailored combination rather than a single product.
The core component for many patients is jaw Botox. Small fat pockets may be treated with fat dissolving injections, and the tip of the V is shaped with chin filler.
The building blocks
- Masseter Botox : slims a jaw that is wide from muscle
- Fat dissolving : reduces small fat pockets under the chin or jaw
- Chin filler : lengthens or projects the chin for a tapered shape
- Jawline filler : sharpens a soft jaw border in some patients
- Lifting : added when sagging, not width, is the issue

Who is a good candidate?
V line injections suit people whose lower face looks wide or soft because of muscle bulk, small fat deposits or a short chin, and who want a gradual, natural refinement without surgery. A jaw that is wide because of bone will change less, and your dermatologist will tell you honestly what is realistic.
If jowls or loose skin under the chin are the main issue, lifting treatments may be more effective than slimming injections.
V line injections may suit you if you
- Have a square jaw from a strong masseter
- Have a small double chin or soft jawline
- Have a short or slightly recessed chin
- Want a slimmer face without surgery or long downtime
- Are happy with gradual change and maintenance

Real patient · before & after
The jaw Botox part of a V line
This patient received masseter Botox only, the most common component of V line injections. Her lower face looks narrower at the jaw angles while her expressions stay natural.
Many V line plans also include chin filler or fat dissolving, which are not shown here. Ask us for combined V line cases at consultation.

Recovery, side effects and aftercare
Botox and filler usually cause only small injection marks or mild swelling. Fat dissolving injections cause more swelling and tenderness, typically for several days. Less common effects include temporary asymmetry or a change in the smile if toxin spreads, tiredness when chewing, lumps, and rare vascular complications with filler.
Tell your dermatologist if you have a neuromuscular condition, take blood thinners or certain antibiotics, have an active infection, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Aftercare tips
- Avoid massaging the jaw for the rest of the day after Botox
- Stay upright for about 4 hours after Botox
- Use cold packs gently for swelling
- Skip saunas, alcohol and intense exercise for 1 to 2 days
- Do not press on the chin for a few days after filler
Questions we hear every day
V Line Injections FAQ
Do V line injections hurt?
Botox injections feel like brief pinches. Filler and fat dissolving injections are done with numbing cream or ice, and fat dissolvers can sting or burn for a short time. Most patients find the session very manageable.
How long do V line results last?
Jaw Botox typically lasts about three to six months, chin filler often around a year or more, and fat reduction can be long-lasting if your weight is stable. Regular maintenance keeps the overall shape.
When will I see a slimmer face?
Chin filler changes the shape immediately. Jaw slimming from Botox begins around two to four weeks and continues for up to two to three months. Fat dissolving results build over several weeks, often with more than one session.
Can V line injections replace jaw surgery?
No. Injections work on muscle, fat and soft-tissue shape, not bone. They can make a noticeable difference for many people, but a jaw that is wide because of bone structure will change less. Your dermatologist will explain what is realistic.
Can I have V line injections during a short trip?
Yes. Botox and filler need little downtime, so many international patients have them during a visit. Fat dissolving causes more swelling and usually needs repeat sessions, so we may adjust the plan to your travel dates.
